Whether Rio was filled with glory or disappointment, furry friends are anxiously awaiting for their Olympian hoomans to return. Isn’t that what the best part of being a dog owner is anyways- the unconditional love?
This year we fell in love with Simone, and revealed in the accumulating victories of our homeboy Mikey (B-more baby!). Turns out, we have plenty more reasons to love them. Besides being American Superstars, they are dog lovers…
Apparently, one wasn’t cooperating when the picture was taken- they actually have four German Shepard pups: Atlas, Maggy, Lilly, and Bella!
Juno (pictured right) welcomed little brother Herman to the family earlier this year.
Aly met Gibson at an Olympic Promo Shoot where the pup was up for adoption and says as soon as she saw him, she knew it was “meant to be.”
Missy Franklin is a bad ass and so is her dog… how could he not be with the name Ruger?!
We missed her in Rio (though she insists she’s not retiring), but I had to include her anyways! She’s one of my favorite swimmers, and well her pooches Dozer and SheRa are just too cute to leave out.
The tennis pro has a Havenese named Harold…. I have no idea what a Havenese even is but I’m pretty sure I want one!
Connor Dwyer is a competitive swimmer with a Bullmastiff named Biggie. We are told that Biggie lives up to his name and tips the scales at over 100 lbs.
Not only is the gymnast incredibly easy on the eyes, but he’s a dog lover too? Dreamy!
He may represent Great Britain, but we love him anyways. The tennis star has two pooches, Rusty and Maggie whom he loves very much. Rumor has it, he Skypes them while he’s away for matches.
